Consultations can be made on a wide array of issues.  I have worked with families on sleep, discipline, school/daycare, social and emotional development, welcoming siblings, divorce, and more.  I take a very individualized approach which allows me to take your situation into account with any recommendations I may have. One-time consultations can be done via Skype, phone, or email and cover a broad range of issues and are perfect for most topics.  The consultation includes:
    • the 75-minute session via Skype or phone (or in-depth emails to gather the same information)
    • a summary of the plan discussed, and
    • 2 weeks of email follow-up  (you can select to purchase a longer follow-up time of an additional 2 weeks)
If you are looking for sleep help and it is a specific issue (like transitioning to a new bed, concerns over sleep at daycare, bedtime struggles, etc.), I am happy to work on it in a consultation.  However, if it is sleep more generally (such as concerns over night wakings or sleep in general), I recommend looking at the sleep package (click here) or booking a free 15-min call (click here) to discuss the options with me. Once you purchase individual help, a link for the scheduler will be displayed in the purchase note.  Please use that link to book your initial appointment. Note that if you are a repeat client, please do not book here, but email me for your direct link.

Sleep is one of the most pressing concerns for families with young children.  Unfortunately, understanding what is biologically normal is missing in our culture as is the fact that sleep is not something that exists in a vacuum.  Sleep is dependent upon so many factors and when I work with families, I make sure to look at all of these factors to maximize people's well-being.  Sometimes there are changes to routines, sometimes health changes, sometimes there's acceptance and working with expectations and how to handle one's own sleep needs, but there is no one solution that works for all families. In this package, I'll work with you over three sessions to go through these various factors and find the ways that work with your child and your family to meet everyone's needs as best as possible.  Please read below for more information on the package and what it includes. If your concerns are specific and limited, a consultation may be a better option.  If you aren't sure, please book a 15-min call to discuss with me (click here). Once you purchase individual help, a link for the scheduler will be displayed in the purchase note.  Please use that link to book your initial appointment. Note that if you are a repeat client, please do not book here, but email me for your direct link.

Sometimes we just need someone to talk things through with.  We have smaller questions or just need to be reassured by what we are doing.  In these cases, a full consultation is not something you want to spend the money or time on, and that is why I have created these discussion calls as an option for families.  The topics can be anything relating to parenting - sleep, discipline, schooling, etc. - and you will have my ear and my time to help you through whatever the issue happens to be. These sessions do not include the reports and follow-up that come with a regular consultation.  You can choose between a 30-min option (click here) or a 60-min option.   Once you register you will receive a link to a scheduler where you can also choose the type of contact (Skype, phone, or Zoom).  If no time works for you, just send me an email (tracy@evolutionaryparenting.com) and we will make it work.  I have yet to find it impossible to find time to speak to any client (unless they have chosen to interact via email instead which can also be a possibility if you need it).

  • Welcome to the free Covid 19 Parenting Survival Guide.  As we face unprecedented times with social isolation, a virus that is shifting as we speak, and governments that seem unable or unwilling to do what is necessary to help end the risk, we, as parents, have the added burdens of trying to keep young kids not only alive, but thriving in this unique set of circumstances. How do we do this?  How can we tackle the burden of parenting when we don’t even know what is going on out there?  How do we provide for our kids when there is so little to provide? I won’t pretend to have all the answers, but I do hope that this guide will make things maybe just a bit easier and provide some ideas and context to situations that may seem overwhelming right now. Note: The guide is now available in both English and Portuguese thanks to the translation by Ana Lucia Bernt!  Both options will be available to download.

  • Sometimes we don't think we need more help than we do.  Despite the amount of readings or audio in each course, many people find the one-on-one time more valuable in terms of talking through the various issues they face.  Not all solutions have a simple answer and having someone to help you through them can be invaluable.  However, not everyone will know they need this help ahead of time.  For this reason, I have created this option to purchase additional office hours for any course that you are taking or may have taken, even if it's after the fact - I always welcome helping people at any time.

Parenting your first child is hard.

Parenting your first and second is ten times harder.

So many parents enter parenthood and feel overwhelmed.  Over time, they get their bearings and then they feel prepared to take on the challenge of welcoming a second child into the mix.  You've done it before, so this time it'll be easier, right?  All too often, it's actually wrong.  Balancing the needs of the youngest with an oldest (who isn't used to sharing your love or time) can be beyond demanding and many parents struggle with feelings of failure, guilt, and shame.  Being overwhelmed by it all makes it harder to keep our cool and parent how we want to and falling short on a regular basis does nothing to help the family dynamic.  In this 4-week course we will look at the various struggles families face with raising two to help you understand how you can prepare (if baby #2 is coming) or change things (if baby #2 is here and there's struggle) to help as you navigate what is probably the hardest switch - that of 1 to 2 children.

You can read more details of what the course covers in the fuller description below. Format: Written (pdf downloads) and audio links available each week for the content.  One-on-one session available via Zoom or via email.

**Course begins June 8th and registration is open until July 15th.  If you pre-register, you will begin June 8th.  If you register afterwards, it will begin after registration.**
