Too often we expect our kids to be happy about what we need them to do instead of allowing them to experience their emotions as they need to.

We let kids stay up late, hang out with whomever they want, and do whatever they want, as long as they aren’t harming themselves or others. So why don’t they “push the limits,” and harm one another? I’ll explain.
Some musings on the lesson that I have been forced to learn in the last two years. Pain in this world can be overwhelming and we can feel helpless in the face of it, but we are never truly helpless.
